How Shipping a Car With AMG Works
Tell us the route, the vehicle and roughly when you need it moved, and you get a
current-market quote in about a minute. Quotes are valid for 30 days.
Once you approve, AMG searches its carrier network and brings you a specific carrier with
their coverage and a pickup window. Nothing is charged until you accept that carrier and
confirm the date. Deposits are refundable until the carrier is dispatched, roughly 24 to 48
hours before pickup.
At pickup the driver documents the vehicle's condition with photographs on an electronic
bill of lading. You get the same at delivery. The remaining balance is due on delivery.

- How much does it cost to ship a car?
- Cost depends on distance, vehicle size, transport type and timing. Open transport is the most economical option and covers 85-90% of shipments. Enclosed transport runs $400 to $800 more. AMG Transport Co. quotes a current-market price for your specific route. The price you approve is the price you pay — if carrier availability or corrected shipment details change the workable amount, you see the new option and approve it before anything is charged.
- When do I pay a deposit?
- Only after a carrier is confirmed and you approve the pickup date. The deposit is $207.70 ($200 plus 3.85% processing) and it is refundable until carriers are dispatched. AMG never asks for a deposit before a carrier is assigned, and never takes payment by wire, Zelle or gift card.
- Do you ship to Alaska or Hawaii?
- No. AMG Transport Co. serves the lower 48 states only. Shipments to Alaska and Hawaii require ocean freight, which is a different service with different carriers and paperwork.
- What is the difference between open and enclosed transport?
- Open transport uses the standard multi-car trailers dealerships use and is the most cost-effective option. Enclosed transport uses a fully covered trailer that seals the vehicle off from weather, road debris and dust. Enclosed is the right call for classic, exotic, luxury and lowered vehicles.
