Tucson benefits enormously from its position on I-10 between Phoenix and El Paso. Phoenix is only about 115 miles north and carriers running that corridor pass through Tucson constantly. Manheim Tucson is located at 7090 South Craycroft Road and keeps a consistent flow of dealer vehicles moving through the market. IAA also has a Tucson location. That auction activity, combined with the University of Arizona population and the steady stream of retirees moving in and out of Southern Arizona, makes this a more active market than you might expect for a city of this size. Pickups in Tucson typically run 3 to 5 days. When carriers are running between Phoenix and the Texas border on I-10, Tucson fits naturally into that route and pickups can come together faster. Detroit is a unique market in auto transport. It is not as simple as just being a high volume hub, and here is why. The Motor City has enormous carrier activity because of the auto industry itself. The challenge is timing. When Ford, GM, or Stellantis ship new model year inventory out of Michigan in late summer and early fall, carriers are stacked with OEM loads. Delivering to Detroit is generally smooth. The interstate access is genuinely excellent and carriers finishing a southbound run often loop back through Michigan on the return. The industrial west side and southern suburbs near I-75 are the easiest access points. Downtown Detroit and the Midtown area are more accessible than you might expect for a city of its age, but as always with urban cores, meetups near a parking area are sometimes cleaner.
