Tucson benefits enormously from its position on I-10 between Phoenix and El Paso. Phoenix is only about 115 miles north and carriers running that corridor pass through Tucson constantly. Manheim Tucson is located at 7090 South Craycroft Road and keeps a consistent flow of dealer vehicles moving through the market. IAA also has a Tucson location. That auction activity, combined with the University of Arizona population and the steady stream of retirees moving in and out of Southern Arizona, makes this a more active market than you might expect for a city of this size. It is not Phoenix, but it is not El Paso either.
Pickups in Tucson typically run 3 to 5 days. When carriers are running between Phoenix and the Texas border on I-10, Tucson fits naturally into that route and pickups can come together faster. Summer is actually slower here than you might think. The extreme heat from June through August pushes some carrier traffic to adjust schedules and some snowbirds leave, reducing outbound volume. Charlotte is the strongest auto transport market in the Carolinas and it has gotten meaningfully better over the last decade as the city has grown. ADESA Charlotte is on Fruehauf Drive in southwest Charlotte. Manheim Charlotte is in Concord, about 25 miles northeast. Manheim also has locations in Statesville and Kenly within the broader state network. IAA Charlotte operates in the metro as well. I-77 runs north-south through the city, connecting Charlotte to Columbia, South Carolina to the south and straight up to Charlotte Douglas International and eventually to I-81 in Virginia. I-85 runs northeast to southwest, connecting Charlotte to Atlanta in one direction and Richmond and the DC corridor in the other. That combination puts Charlotte at a natural crossroads for carriers running the Southeast.
Charlotte receives cars with very little friction. Carriers on I-85 between Atlanta and Richmond pass through the Charlotte metro regularly. Carriers on I-77 connecting the Southeast to the mid-Atlantic use Charlotte as a natural stop point. The result is that deliveries to Charlotte are reliable and do not require a premium in most cases. The Concord and Huntersville suburban areas are the cleanest for big hauler access. Uptown Charlotte near the Spectrum Center and the banking district can require a meetup in a nearby parking area but that is the exception, not the rule.
